*For incoming Grade 4 scholars, Summer Intensive is now optional. For incoming Grade 5-6 scholars, Summer Intensive is mandatory.

During the four-week virtual program, your child will develop a study routine and understand what to expect in the classroom. We can't wait to get your child ready for an exciting year of firsts!

Our goal is to ensure that your child understands key Math and English Language Arts concepts so they feel confident and ready to tackle the school year.

Summer intensive runs Monday to Friday from July 1 to 26 with families choosing between the 10am - 1pm session or 5pm to 8pm session.

Course Work

The program runs from July 1 to July 24, 2024*, Monday through Friday with families choosing between a 10am - 1pm session or a 5pm to 8pm session. All scholars are expected to attend all sessions and be logged into Zoom on time and in uniform every morning.


*No sessions will be held on July 4

Every lesson will cover crucial material that ensures your child is confident and ready on the first day to learn.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Summer Intensive mandatory? 

For incoming Gr 5-6 students, Summer Intensive is mandatory. 


For incoming Gr 4 students, Summer Intensive is optional, but we strongly recommend it.


What is the attendance policy?

Grade 4 scholars who are attending Summer Intensive, cannot have more than four unexcused absences. 


Grade 5-6 scholars cannot have more than four unexcused absences. 


If your child doesn’t show up for the first five days or has more than four unexcused absences, they will no longer be eligible to complete the program and be enrolled in the grade below.

How do I choose which session I prefer? 

A form will be sent to the email associated with your child’s application. You will have the option to confirm your child’s participation in Summer Intensive and select your preferred time.

What should I do if my child is sick and needs to miss sessions?

Just like in regular school, we’re following our usual policy on excused absences. Please review the Family Handbook to understand your next steps and see a list of excused absences.

What happens if my scholar needs tech support or their Chromebook breaks?

For guidance to get your scholar’s technology set up and other troubleshooting needs, our Chromebook Guide has helpful information. If you still need help or have specific issues, we have a team available to help get your questions answered, and to troubleshoot throughout the summer.

Are uniforms required for Summer Intensive?

Yes, Summer Intensive scholars are expected to wear their uniforms at all times during class and while taking assessments. This will help your child get in the habit of being dressed for success once school starts!

Where do I pick up my child’s Chromebook? 

Once you confirm your child is attending Summer Intensive, you’ll receive instructions to register for your school’s tech pick up event.
